February GMM – Focus on Hunger

We hope to see you at this month’s General Membership Meeting on Tuesday, February 23 at 7:30pm, (location TBD). Our guest speaker will be Persephone Zill, Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships & Advocacy at the Food Bank for Westchester.

Persephone is utilizing her extensive background in training, counseling, marketing, social media and strategic planning to raise awareness for hunger and help the Food Bank advocate for initiatives that will help close Westchester County’s meal gap.

Junior League Sparkle for a Cause Event

Save the Date: Junior League Sparkle for a Cause Event – February 2

Please bring your family and friends for a casual dinner or drinks at Crabtree’s Kittle House and help the Junior League earn funds to support our programs.  The Kittle House will donate 30% of the evening’s Sparkle For A Cause proceeds to the JLNW (excluding tax and gratuity). The event will be held in the Garden Room on Tuesday, February 2.  Just order off the special menu and let them know that you are there for the Sparkle event.  We look forward to seeing you there.

Local Area Evening Meeting

Local Area Meetings Return This Month!

Many thanks to all the members who graciously offered to host one of the local area meetings in January. We heard from you that you enjoy these more informal gatherings in homes of our members, so we are planning for these meetings in lieu of the monthly GMM.
Christina Dochterman will be hosting an evening meeting on Wednesday, January 27th from 7:30 – 9:00 PM at her home at 100 Stone Bridge Lane in Bedford Hills.  To sign up, click here.
The meetings will be a social gathering while we chat about the Junior League of Northern Westchester as part of the work of the ad hoc committee on membership.

Community Advisory Council Meeting

The JLNW will be having a community conversation with various agency partners on Human Trafficking in Northern Westchester.  Our guest speaker will be Chief David Ryan of the Pound Ridge Police Department, co-founder of “The Westchester County Anti-Trafficking Task Force”.  This is happening all around us and we know this will lead to an important discussion on needs, training and issues facing our community.
