Our Mission
The Junior League of Northern Westchester (JLNW) is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. The Junior League of Northern Westchester reaches out to women of all races, religions and national origins who demonstrate an interest in, and commitment to, voluntarism.

Our Vision
The Junior League of Northern Westchester effects positive change in its community. It assesses needs, collaborates, develops and conducts programs that empower individuals and families.

Our Members
The Junior League of Northern Westchester consists of a diverse group of women between the ages of 21 and 101 who believe that voluntarism is an important part of making a difference in our community. Approximately fifty percent of our Active members are employed outside the home.

What We Do
The League educates and trains its members to provide effective volunteer service, to research challenging community needs and to initiate pilot projects or expand services to meet those needs. It provides administrative, financial, and volunteer support for projects and facilitates the permanent sponsorship of programs by appropriate community organizations. The League currently focuses on projects that support the advancement of women and the literacy of children in the Northern Westchester area. Programs are evaluated yearly, and events are hosted regularly to promote sisterhood amongst members and raise funds for League programs and efforts.

Our Funding
Membership dues finance most of the League’s administrative expenses. Money raised through our fundraising efforts primarily fund the League’s community and training programs. Our fundraisers include: the annual Campaign, earned income events, the spring fundraiser, and various sponsorship opportunities.

Our International Association
We are affiliated with the Association of Junior Leagues International as one of 293 member Leagues in the United States, Canada, Mexico and England that comprise over 155,000 members.
