Benefits of Membership

Voluntarism
The Junior League of Northern Westchester promotes voluntarism and improves the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. We also recognize the critical role of the voluntary sector in initiating, demonstrating and advocating for needed change, monitoring the public sector objectively and influencing governmental program development and regulation.

Training
Members are offered training courses, seminars and workshops on a variety of topics that relate to personal, professional and community interests. Opportunities to attend League-sponsored state, regional and national conferences and training sessions are also available.

Networking
Members working side-by-side, serving their community, form lasting friendships. Networking opportunities also exist through collaborations with other community, state and national organizations.

Leadership Development
Members develop core skills by serving on League committees that transfer well to their personal and professional lives. Many League members are afforded opportunities to serve on community boards and other local and national leadership programs.

Membership Transferability — National and International
League membership is transferable throughout the United States, Canada, Great Britain and Mexico, thus providing members with a network in a new community.
