Effective Voluntarism – Engages in activities that utilize skills and abilities in a manner that has the greatest impact for community projects and efforts.

Community Advocacy & Awareness – Is aware of the issues that are important to our community.  Recognizes the resources regarding these issues and serves as an advocate on the local, state and national levels.

Junior League Organizational Knowledge – Understands the structure of the JLNW as wells as its relationship to the AJLI.  Understands the key resources, process and structures needed to accomplish objectives.  Familiar with the JLNW’s strategic plan.

Professional Communication – Expresses opinions and ideas in a clear and concise manner, whether verbally or written, while actively listening to the opinions of others.  Feels comfortable speaking in front of groups of people.  Encourages honest communication always.

Managing and Maximizing Teams – Is able to effectively steer and manage a team of people as they work towards a common goal.  Creates a positive environment in which all team members feel that their voice is heard, that they have an impact, and that they play a valuable role. Develops a variety of options for team members to be involved.  Applies a variety of tactics in addressing problems and issues to a resolution.  Creates opportunities for social interaction among members to help develop relationships. Takes initiative to accomplish goals, and encourages- and applauds initiative in others.

Social Awareness – Appreciates the value of our diverse membership and community.  Embraces the opportunity to work with a diverse group of people.  Accepts diverse points of view, opinions and strategies to accomplish a goal.  Seeks to develop a variety of methods for members to be involved and fulfill their placements.  Takes the diversity of our membership in to account when choosing the time and location of meetings and events.

Strategic Leadership – Thinks beyond the current issues facing the JLNW.  Anticipates future needs, issues and societal trends.  Works to help the JLNW and our community prepare to address these changing needs.  Works to effectively align the vision, strategy and actions of the JLNW to address the changing needs and makeup of our membership and our community.

Personal Growth – Seeks to refine current knowledge, skills and abilities.  Takes advantage of opportunities to develop new skills knowledge and abilities.  Looks for placements and volunteer opportunities that will foster growth.

Fund Development – Understands the current funding sources of the JLNW.  Is able to effectively solicit donations or sponsorships on behalf to the JLNW.  Has experience planning and executing effective fundraising events.
